I lived in Melbourne for 10 years. There are several kosher restaurants (Melbourne Beit Din and Chabad heksher) on Carlisle Street, between Hotham and St. Kilda Roads in E. St. Kilda. These restaurants are fast food/light meal type. There is also Glick's kosher bakery on Carlisle Street, selling not only challahs, bagels, cakes (cheesecake to die for!), but also gefilte fish and heimmishe delicacies. There was a kosher restaurant and a branch of Glick's on Glen Eira Road in Elwood (Agudat Yisrael hecksher), but I don't know if they're still there. Best bet is to call the Lubavitch (Chabad) Yeshiva on Hotham Road in E. St. Kilda or the Melbourne Beit Din (both listed in the White Pages). There is also a Mizrachi Kashrut list put out every year by the Mizrachi shul, and lists all products sold in the supermarket (Coles) with a hecksher (the mashgiach is a Chabadnik). The list can be obtained from the Melbourne Beit Din, Mizrachi or Chabad or in Gold's Bookstore off Carlisle Street. There are several guest houses in country Victoria that cater to the religious....again, contact the Melbourne Beit Din to get their names.
